French developer Punchers Impact has introduced the world to Lucha Fury, its first multiplayer beat-em-up for the PSN.
Combining the worlds of comics and Mexican wrestling (aka Lucha Libra), Lucha Fury follows the story of four wrestlers who spend their lives mooching about drinking energy drinks. That is, until said energy drinks become incredibly short in supply. This shortage of their precious beverage brings our heroes into a fight against the “most incredible worldwide conspiracy ever”.
Boasting online and offline 4 player cooperative play, Lucha Fury features a vivid (and gorgeous, I might add) comic book-style and horizontal, side-scrolling gameplay. Team-play is also enhanced by the inclusion of a multi-player combo mode, which will “allow fighters to gang up on their enemies and finish them off cooperatively”. Sounds like fun!
Check out the screens below, they are pretty.
Lucha Fury will be available in Q4 2010 on PS3 and in early 2011 for PC.
