James Bond: Blood Stone Announced

Time to break out your best British accent and dust of that Martini shaker as Activision has finally confirmed that the next Bond game will be James Bond: Blood Stone.

Developed by Bizarre Creations, “players will experience full-throttle, behind-the-wheel action on land and sea while using the most high-tech gadgetry known to James Bond 007, the world’s most skilled secret agent.”

“James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond,” said David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. “In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based gameplay that will allow Xbox 360, PS3and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

The game will involve cover-based firefights, lethal hand-to-hand combat and explosive adrenaline-fuelled driving sequences in a variety of global locations including Athens, Istanbul, Monaco and Bangkok. A 16-person multiplayer mode will require “skill, teamwork and strategy as players compete in matches that will have spies battling mercenaries.”

Daniel Craig will resume his role as Bond, providing his voice for the game as well as Judi Dench continuing as M. Award winning artist Joss Stone will become the newest Bond girl in an “original Bond experience from legendary screenwriter Bruce Feirstein.” Not settling for just a starring role, Stone will also create original music for game.

James Bond 007: Blood Stone is set for release this year on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo DS.
