Microsoft has confirmed that Kinect’s voice recognition will be disabled for mainland Europe until Spring 2011.

Kinect will only accept American English, British English – also known as… ‘English’, Mexican Spanish and Japanese, for it’s system voice controls when it launches in November. Canada and mainland Europe will therefore have to wait until Spring next year for this feature. Even those who would rather use English or Mexican Spanish than nothing, will not be able to due to the region-locked status of Xbox 360s.

This is another hit to what is becoming a rocky pre-launch for the ‘controller-free’ peripheral.
