During EAs press conference this morning at TGS, they announced the newest title from developer Grasshopper Manufacture.
The new game, called Shadows of the Damned, was described as a psychological thriller by Executive director Goichi Suda and the creator of Resident Evil, Shinji Mikami. The third-person adventure game will see main character, Garcia, travel to Hell to save his love Paula. The game will have a distinct “punk rock style” with perhaps the best weapon to be announced in some time, fully working skull-mounted shotguns!
“With Shadows of the Damned, gamers will fight for love in the most difficult arena imaginable … hell,” said Shinji Mikami. “Players will find themselves surrounded by demons set on destroying their heart and soul. Only the strong will survive.”
“We are honored to be working with Suda-san and Mikami-san and all of the wonderfully creative minds at Grasshopper. This is one of the most daring and innovative projects in the EA Partners program,” said David DeMartini, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EA Partners. “We look forward to launching this game next summer.”
Suda and Mikami also revealed that the Sound Designer of Silent Hill, Akira Yamaoka, will be working on the title. Check out the trailer below.
Shadows of the Damned is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011.

Nice one, Ryan.
The game looks quite fun and insane. Will keep an eye on this one.
It looks very insane. I just wish more devs would put skull mounted shotguns their games.
