Just prior to E3, we revealed which games we were most excited about over the coming eighteen months or so. Along came E3, bringing a whole host of announcements and additional information / screens / trailer / gameplay footage / demonstrations for those games as well as previously announced titles. It seems that those announced prior to E3 managed to convince us enough that they should still be atop of our most anticipated lists, with the exception of Batman: Arkham City – which brought nothing new aside from a few screens. So without further ado, our Most Anticipated Games Post-E3 2011.

- Battlefield 3 – It was stunning before and after the incredible demos and trailers it looks even better. This is still the shooter to beat in my book.
- Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception – I loved the first two and the third looks set to be the best of the bunch. With a simply mind-blowing demonstration shown during Sony’s E3 conference, the technical marvels for the threequel look set to dwarf those last time around.
- Prey 2 – I enjoyed the teaser trailer that was released a few months back, and even more so the E3 trailer; however, it was the gameplay demonstration that sold me on Prey 2.
- Bioshock Infinite – A lover of the original Bioshock, the world was such a key facet in creating one of the games of this generation. In Infinite, it looks like we’re going to have a similar story. Can. Not. Wait.
- Hitman Absolution - Having finally seen some screens and even some leaked footage of the title, I’m now super excited for this. With a fantastic trailer to go with it, just let me at Agent 47!
Changes from Pre-E3: Batman: Arkham City

- SSX – SSX Tricky and SSX 3 were two of my most favourite PS2 games and now that it’s coming back to PS3, I couldn’t be more excited. The gameplay demo shown at E3 only got me more excited with great, crazy and fluid gameplay, over the top locations and ‘thousands of customisation options’.
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Oblivion was possibly one of the best RPGs I have played and Skyrim looks like it has improved in every aspect. New animations, new transport options and improved visuals all came together in another gameplay demo that had me bouncing around giddy like a school kid waiting to see the latest Harry Potter.
- Prey 2 – I never played the first Prey so I wasn’t expecting anything from the sequel and I never actually watched the amazing gameplay demo until someone told me it was like Blade Runner mixed with Brink mixed with more complex version of Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Those words alone set my expectations pretty high and I was pretty shocked when I watched it. It was superb and it shot right to the top of my pre-order list.
- Tomb Raider – I spent my childhood watching my Dad playing the original Tomb Raider games (along with Resident Evil – I didn’t get much sleep as a kid) and when I heard that a reboot was coming in the form of a more human Lara with survival aspects in an open world environment, it certainly piqued my interest in it. The gameplay demo showed a gritty and fragile side to the much improved Lara and it is very annoying that this hype will have to last me a whole eighteen months.
- Assassin’s Creed Revelations – Assassin’s Creed is arguably the greatest new series this generation and while the first had more than its fair share of problems, it still managed to provide an interesting story with some terrific conspiracies. Assassin’s Creed 2 improved drastically upon the first and Brotherhood even more so. I’m expecting big things from Revelations if Ubisoft’s advances in the series continue and, with a great gameplay demo behind it and improvements such as dynamic side missions, surely it can’t fail at being the best yet?
Changes: Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, Final Fantasy XIII-2

- Tomb Raider – Biggest surprise of E3 was the fact that the gameplay footage looked so good. If the final product is anything like that gameplay demonstration during the Microsoft conference, this would beat Nathan Drake with a sledgehammer.
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Bethesda’s new engine looks fantastic and while gameplay may be similar to Oblivion,I’m still interested. I want to go hunting mammoths too.
- Dark Souls – While I didn’t pick up on much about this during E3, I was looking forward to this anyway.
- Batman: Arkham City – Just looks ace and really epic in scale. Not too much longer now.
- Battlefield 3 – This should beat Modern Warfare 3 hands down!
Changes: Lylat Wars 3D, The Last Guardian, Bioshock Infinite

- Bioshock Infinite - Widely touted as the best game shown at E3, winning numerous awards, Bioshock Infinite is definitely on my most wanted list and with the announcement of Move support, it can only get better.
- Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception – That demo; wow! That game just looks better every time I see it. Looks like Naughty Dog have another winner on their hands this year.
- LittleBigPlanet Vita – The Playstation Vita has a few killer apps, but LBP really impressed me. It makes great use of the Vita’s many control types and looks fantastic.
- Battlefield 3 – The game looks nothing short of amazing. With its amazing visuals, new engine and Battlefield gameplay at the core, for me it will be this year’s difinitive FPS.
- Metal Gear Solid HD Collection – It may have been announced before the show but it wowed me nonetheless. MGS 2, 3 and Peacewalker in HD? Yes please!
Changes: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, FIFA 12, Batman: Arkham CIty, Final Fantasy XIII-2
