On October 15 this year, something big is happening – and no, it’s none of our birthdays. Gamers all around the world will be taking part in the Extra Life 24-hour gaming marathon, an event that aims to aid sick kids through the power of gaming, and MediaKick will be right there in the thick of it. We’re making a big push this year to help children who are really in need, and we need your help!

As you may more may not know, our Editor David Howard has already participated in Extra Life twice before, and as such has the t-shirt – literally. However, it’s the first time for the rest of us and the first time for MediaKick as a team.

Set up by Jeromy Adams from Sarcastic Gamer, Extra Life is an organisation set up to raise money to help kids in Children’s Miracle Network hospitals around the world. By participating in a 24-hour gaming marathon, gamers can contribute to this, the worthiest of causes, by getting their friends, family and fellow gamers to sponsor them.

This year, six MediaKick writers will be participating in the event, each supporting a Children’s Miracle Network hospital of their choice. Davs, Ryan, Dave, Harry, Liam and myself (Phillip) will need your help to make Team MediaKick’s effort a huge success.

Through the morning, day and night of October 15 – and beyond, we will be playing games in order to raise money for sick children who really need help. We’re going to be rather proactive in getting you involved as well. We will be playing with the MedaKick community, holding competitions and giving out prizes to our donors in an attempt to make Extra Life a greater success than the quite incredible years previously.

All we ask is that you make a donation to one (or all) of us, no matter how big or how small. Every little helps in our effort and any donation would be more than appreciated. We cannot stress enough how worthy of a cause this is and how much even the smallest of donations can help. Each and every one of us loves gaming and we want to use our love of gaming for the greater good, and we need your help to do it.
