On a console not know for shipping hefty numbers in the opening weeks for an exclusive, the fact that Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has sold 3.8 million units in its first day alone is quite staggering.

Sony has confirmed the sales numbers, meaning that the threequel is currently “on a clear course to be the biggest selling game in the trilogy.”

To put it in a bit more perspective, Gears of War 3 sold 3 million in its first week, whilst Battlefield 3, which launched on three platforms, shifted 5 million copies.

Congratulations to Naughty Dog for these sales figures; they are utterly deserved having “created not just the most overwhelming, flawless experience a gamer could have the pleasure of playing, but one that outstrips anything a movie could offer.”
