Bethesda’s VP of PR and Marketing, Pete Hines, has gone all Liverpudlian on us telling us to “calm down.” Following reports of bugs, the company has announced that patches are incoming for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on all platforms.
“We are continuing to work on an update for all platforms to address any bugs and [performance] issues we can,” tweeted Hines.
While this pleased most fans, some were a little impatient and in response to one tweet, Hines replied, “Patches/updates take a little time. We can’t turn it around quite that fast. It’s been three days. Calm down. We’re working on it.”
No release date has been announced for the patches with Hines stating that Bethesda is “not going to give timeframes on this.”

Hmmm… I may wait to try/start Skyrim until this then…
If you got the PlayStation 3 version, the frame rate is apparently unstable, while the Xbox 360 version has texture issues. Either way, there is a lot to go through this month besides Skyrim.
I’m not too fussed to be honest. It’s not as glitchy as their previous titles like Fallout 3 and as long as you save often it’s not too bad (reports that the UI is broken on the PC version notwithstanding). What they have achieved with Skyrim, whilst slightly flawed, is remarkable. They have literally made a country for the player to do what they like in. The scale of that is immense.
It’s worth bearing in mind that while most games these days are a lot less buggy than Skyrim, nobody else is even attempting to do what Bethesda have done.
Completely agree. I’ve only encountered framerate issues on the PS3 version. For an Bethesda game and, more importantly, one this huge, it is a massive accomplishment.
