We seem to be getting these on an occasional basis, but at least we know a couple of week’s worth of content! Xbox Live seems to have a few things happening in January.

First up we have Xbox Live Arcade games. This week sees the much delayed survival horror game from the mind that brought us Flashback – Amy and 2D helicopter war-sim Choplifter HD become available to download. The following week sees the mind that brought us Parappa the Rapper release a Microsoft Kinect game in the form of Haunt, Square-Enix’s 2D Platformer Scarygirl and the re-release of an old favourite – DOOM! There is also the semi exciting prospect of the demo for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning coming out that same week.

Paid for DLC is getting a significant boost as not only do Gears of War and Saints Row: The Third get boosted DLC, but also a new deck pack for Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 and the various fitness games that were released just before Christmas get a variety of DLC.

The Zune marketplace seems to be playing host to the Multi Academy Award winning Titanic, together with a load of films I haven’t heard of, and the Avatar marketplace seems to be building the hype for Max Payne’s long awaited sequel by offering avatar upgrades based on the previous two games.

As for deals, this week sees various Tower Defence games see some love, while the following week slashes the price of various Grand Theft Auto IV related offerings, and also includes the classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas at a discounted price.
