Welcome one and all to a new weekly feature from MediaKick Mansion. Consider this some quick, bite-size and hopefully often humorous reading for your Saturday afternoons. Each week I will be asking the rest of the team what their week has consisted of in the world of gaming. There’s a catch though, they have to do so in as few words as possible. They can be blunt, witty, eloquent, even have rhymes; something which is at the digression of each writer. Once I have the entries for that week I shall declare the winner for that week – based on a combination of word count, inventiveness and quality, and add their accolade to a running tally. So let’s get the ball rolling shall we?
First up this week is Harry, “A ten-hour Rock Band 3 session to break in a new keytar punctuated a week of minimal productivity but wholesome videogame fun.”
Blimey! Ten hours. That’s one hell of a session on any game, let alone one that requires the phalangical dexterity that Rock Band does. It seems as though Harry had a rather quiet week all-in-all, something I’m rather jealous of.
Next up, Liam with this quite wonderful entry, “Treasure hunting for glory not wealth, Guns blazing amongst the occasional stealth, Co-operative with friends or sometimes parted, This week I’ve been lost in the third Uncharted.”
This beautifully worded poem may be slightly longer than Harry’s effort, but the rhymes certainly make up for it.
Now we have Dave’s entry, “Reliving the past by playing Sonic Generations to the point where my partner wanted to throw the TV out the window, and getting so frustrated with AMY that I wanted to throw the TV out the window…”
Unfortunately for Dave is seems as though, regardless of what he’s playing, the TV is in serious danger.
And finally for this week, Ryan, “Into season 3 of FM12 as Man United. Angel Di Maria was bought for £15 million and now worth £27 million (kerching!). Hernandez scored 48 goals in as many games. Also enjoyed some Spandau Ballet in Burnout Crash!”
Perhaps lacking the flair of others, it makes up for it with its descriptive nature and is very to the point.
Now then. I do intend to keep these articles short and sweet to without attempting to pull an X-Factor and drag out the results, this week’s winner is Liam. Its cleverness with the rhymes shone out about all others, despite using more words than most. You can expect another The Less Said The Better next Saturday but for this week I leave you with my entry.
“PS3 died, I wept.”

Yay, Poet and didn’t know it
Felt a game as glamorous as Uncharted 3 deserved some extra effort for sure.
Harry breaking in the new “Keytar” made me chuckle too – like the word “keytar”, sums up the Rock Band / Guitar Hero guitars nicely.
I’ve played a few songs on Expert using the keyboard as a guitar, it’s surprisingly effective but my right wrist isn’t happy with me…
