As probably a large amount of the gaming community can testify, Sony’s PlayStation Vita is looking more and more fantastic as the days count down until the launch. I am definitely one of the many excited ones after I got to play a couple of games with one during the Eurogamer Expo last year.
One of the more interesting features for cross play not only playing a game on the PlayStation 3, then picking it up on your PlayStation Vita at a later time, but also playing online games across both PS3 and PS Vita platforms. Sony have released a video on their Europe blog to highlight some of these details.
You will be able to get your hands on a PlayStation Vita on February 22 2012, but this post raises an interesting question. Gamers are always being encouraged to take breaks from play, while also indulging in more outdoor activities. Beforehand this hasn’t been an issue as handheld games have been distinctly different from their console based cousins. But with the PS Vita, these barriers are being shattered. Are these features combined the 3G/WiFi capabilities of the handheld console going to cause new problems? Let us know in the comments below!

Mobile gaming must surely be a phenomenally isolated past time compared to other gaming variants. I really don’t see how it can have a big impact to be honest.
