Hey, remember that “new map” that was announced for Modern Warfare 3? Well, Activision has just released a new trailer for it, and after watching it, “new” seems like a pretty dubious term.
The map, called Overwatch, is eerily reminiscent of Modern Warfare 2′s Highrise, with a similar layout and even the exact same cranes as Highrise.

Needless to say, the fan feedback hasn’t been great, as you can see from the dislike count on the Youtube page for the video.
Infinity Ward are no strangers to the concept of releasing old maps for Call of Duty, they did so with CoD 4 maps in Modern Warfare 2, but at least they acknowledged those were classic maps. Something about this just leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth, however.
Like it or not, this map will be available on February 21 for Xbox 360 Elite subscribers, with normal 360 players, PS3 players and PC players presumably getting it in the following months.

If you’re going to recycle things at least knock them down in price. It’ll also justify the hiked prices for brand-spanking new DLC maps.
