Just mere days to go mortals, before the PlayStation Vita and its massive array of neat sounding features graces its presence on these fair shores. You already know so much about the handheld I’d gather, including the Cross Play feature. But in this day and age, money is a bit of a sore issue. Heck, the recommended price tag for the WiFi model alone is around the same price as several PlayStation 3 models!
Worry not then if Cross Play was making your wallet quiver in terror. Sony’s European blog has detailed some of the money saving techniques you will see post launch, featuring many of the launch titles. The interesting thing is that even Capcom have muscled in on the promotion by allowing DLC purchased for the PlayStation 3 version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to be downloaded for free on the PlayStation Vita.
- When you buy MotorStorm RC you will be able to play it on PS3 and PS Vita at no additional cost.
- When you buy Hustle Kings and/or Top Darts for PS Vita, you will get the PS3 versions for free. If you already own these games on PS3, you’ll be able to download the PS Vita version for free.
- If you purchase WipEout 2048 and you already own WipEout HD and the HD Fury DLC on PS3, you will be able to download them for free when they launch on PS Vita later this spring.
- DLC purchased for the PS3 version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 can be used on the PS Vita version for free (and vice versa).
Another interesting tidbit that has arisen revolves the PlayStation 3 version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Capcom are going to make a new option appear in the form of “Ultimate Controller”, which you can use PS Vita as a controller, complete with touchscreen special move selection. The PlayStation Vita is out February 22 2012, and my lord I want it to come sooner, rather than or later.
