Borderlands Approaches Doomsday In Latest Trailer

When you stick a fantastic looking game into a trailer laced with class and a pounding soundtrack, you’re always going to be onto a winner. That’s exactly what Gearbox Software and 2K Games have done with the newest trailer for epic-looking Borderlands 2.

In a trailer backed by Nero’s ‘Doomsday’ tune, Borderlands 2 aims to be “bigger, better and more badass”, featuring new characters, skills, imaginative new environments, new and unique missions and enemies, and more exciting and fun weapons, equipment and loot than ever before. All of this wrapped around a story that takes players to the world of Pandora with up to four players in a co-operative mode.

The sequel to the “multi-million unit selling breakout hit” Borderlands is already hotly anticipated here – with it being our ninth most anticipated game of 2012 – so we’re over the moon to have a confirmed release date for the shooter. Set for release on September 21 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, Borderlands 2 will again feature local split-screen play, in addition to online drop-in-drop-out capabilities.

“The addictive gameplay and shooting and looting mayhem of the first Borderlands is back and better than ever in Borderlands 2, taking the franchise to an entirely new level,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “With more guns, more enemies, more missions, an engaging story and all-new characters, Borderlands 2 promises to bring a new era to gaming this fall.”

“Borderlands 2 is a passion project, through and through,” said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software. “The result is a sequel that has improved every successful aspect of Borderlands while innovating with an all-new experience.”

It’s a superb trailer, so be sure to check it out:
